In September 2017 CasaDuna acquired the photo collection of poet and artisan Jair Vieira, an archive of over 300 Atafona photos, with images dating back to the 1940s, portraits of Atafona's old pontal, its various lighthouses, the former chapel of NS dos Navegantes, the Ipiranga post and its emblematic bars. The collection also contains important documents, books and newspaper clippings. This material is in the process of being cataloged, so we have the valuable help of journalist João Noronha.

We wish to continue the pioneering work done by Jair Vieira and continue to search for images, documents, books, reports and other materials that can contribute to local memory. We aim and constitute a memorial of Atafona and São João da Barra to make it available to the interested public, help us to realize this project, contact us!
